Parties and Mad Skills

My last blog entry was May 3rd. Even then it was just something funny that I had stumbled on. A true testament to how damn busy we have been.

Last weekend was the girl child's 16th birthday party. I would post pictures, but with a house full of teenagers, my digital camera has strangely disappeared. Girl child says it will turn up, and it has in the past, but I wouldn't bet my hard earned dollars on it happening this time.

Anyway, I thought I was in for a world of hurt, but I was wrong. We had almost as many adults as teens show up and not one of her friends got out of hand, or acted craptacular. It was actually a very fun day.

I have one pic that the girl child's friend took:

Girl child is the one with the birthday tiara, and my son is the tall one on the far right.

Sunday we had a cookout for Mother's Day. I would have taken pictures, but um...you get the idea. We had good food via the grill and my son who cooked, and had a frisbee (that's right, I said frisbee) match. My brother and I beat my sister and son. Then we switched teams and my sister and I beat my brother and son. The guys demanded a re-match, and they won (with a little interference from my nephew who almost got pummeled in the head with the frisbee).

Yeah, this was pretty much what my frisbee skills looked like:

Next...

My son graduates on May 26th, followed immediately by a move from his Father's house to mine. I hope I can take some pictures of the graduation, but it's not looking likely because ummm...you get the idea. :)

We'll spend some time getting him settled, let him have a breather, and then help him find employment. I know the job market isn't great right now, but we'll find something for him.
